Scholarship Details

Cranfield University, one of the participating institutions under the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship scheme, is pleased to welcome applications from eligible candidates. The program is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and is designed to support talented and motivated individuals who lack the financial means to study in the UK.

The Commonwealth Masters Scholarship aims to build future leaders and equip recipients with the skills necessary for sustainable development. This opportunity allows students from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to pursue full-time Master’s study at a recognized UK university.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Cranfield University Commonwealth Masters Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of, or have refugee status in, an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to begin academic studies in the UK at the start of the academic year in September/October 2026
  • Be unable to afford study in the UK without financial support

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants of the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship will receive:

  • Fully covered tuition fees (agreed between CSC and the university)
  • Approved airfare from home country to the UK and return after the program (dependants’ fares not included)
  • Monthly stipend (living allowance) of £1,378 (2025–2026 rate)
  • Warm clothing allowance (where applicable)
  • Study travel grant for costs of study-related travel in the UK or abroad
  • Child allowance: £590 per month for the first child and £146 per month for the second and third child under 16 (for single parents, widowed or divorced scholars living with children in the UK)
  • Disability support: Scholars with disabilities will receive a full assessment and financial support tailored to their needs

  • Apply through a nominating body, such as:
    • National nominating agencies (main application route)
