Internship Details

The Chevron Internship Program is part of the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and Chevron’s wider CSR efforts. It provides Nigerian students—whether studying locally or abroad—with the opportunity to enhance their technical skills, develop new competencies, and gain exposure to real-time corporate operations.

Chevron is a global leader in the energy sector, and through this program, interns work alongside professionals to support business operations and projects, building a strong foundation for their future careers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria depending on their academic level:

For Undergraduates:

  • Must be Nigerian students, studying in-country or abroad
  • Currently enrolled in an academic program (Bachelor’s, National Diploma, or Higher National Diploma)
  • The internship must be a mandatory requirement for program completion
  • Must submit a recommendation letter from their institution

For Graduates:

  • Open to fresh Nigerian BMLS graduates from recognized institutions (local or foreign)
  • Must possess a Provisional License from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)

General Requirements:

  • All applications must be submitted online through the Chevron application portal
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Applicants will undergo a shortlisting process that may include aptitude/skills tests and/or interviews
  • Selections will be based on performance and available placement slots

Internship Duration and Reward

Chevron interns will receive:

  • Monthly stipends throughout the program
  • Hands-on training in a real work environment
  • Access to professional development opportunities
  • Internship durations ranging from:
    • 3 to 12 months for undergraduate and Master’s students
    • Up to 24 months for Doctoral candidates

Note:

  • The internship program creates a temporary employment platform to help participants develop skills relevant to their field of study
  • Selected interns play supportive roles within their assigned departments and teams
