Scholarship Details
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is a joint initiative between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Clore Leadership, designed for mid-career professionals working in the arts and culture sector. This fellowship provides a unique and flexible leadership development experience tailored to meet the personal and professional goals of each participant.
The program brings together creative and visionary leaders from the UK and across the world for an immersive and self-directed learning journey. Running from September 2024 to May 2025, the fellowship allows fellows to explore leadership through a mix of self-guided study, structured courses, mentorship, and secondment placements.
It is specifically designed to transform leadership capacity, enrich cultural engagement, and contribute to global cultural development by investing in leaders at pivotal points in their careers.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be from any of the following countries: Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, or South Africa
- Intend to return to their home country at the end of the fellowship
- Hold a degree equivalent to at least a UK Second-Class Honours degree or possess equivalent professional training and/or experience
- Have completed at least five years of work experience by the end of 2023
- Meet the minimum requirements of the general Chevening Fellowship Scheme
- Have strong proficiency in English, which will be assessed in the application and during interviews
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship
- Not be an employee, ex-employee, or relative of an employee of His Majesty’s Government, British Council, any UK university partner, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities within the past two years from the opening date of Chevening applications
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship will receive:
- Up to two return economy-class flights between their home country and the UK
- Fully covered accommodation while in the UK
- Living expenses throughout the duration of the fellowship
- Participation in a 4–6 week secondment at a cultural institution in the UK
- Individually tailored fellowship learning plan, which may include courses, conferences, and professional development activities
- Coverage for course and conference fees in the UK
- Travel and training costs within the UK
