Western University’s National Scholarships are established to reward students who demonstrate exceptional all-round excellence. Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Canada National Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student, Canadian citizen, or permanent resident
- Have achieved a minimum overall academic average of 90% in all Grade 12U/M courses or equivalent
- Apply for admission to Western University (main campus)
- Be registered as a full-time undergraduate student
- Be eligible as an International Baccalaureate (IB) or CEGEP student (where applicable)
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the Canada National Scholarship 2026 will receive awards under the following categories:
- Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship
- ONE award valued at $80,000, payable at $20,000 per academic year for four years
- President’s Entrance Scholarships
- 1 award of $70,000 ($25,000 in year one; $15,000 annually for years two to four)
- 4 awards of $65,000 ($20,000 in year one; $15,000 annually for years two to four)
- Up to 15 awards of $50,000 ($20,000 in year one; $10,000 annually for years two to four)
- James Jenkins President’s Entrance Scholarship for Black Students
- 5 awards of $50,000 ($20,000 in year one; $10,000 annually for years two to four)
- Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship
- ONE award valued at $92,000, payable at $23,000 per academic year for four years
- Neen Hodgins President’s International Entrance Scholarship
- ONE award of up to $80,000, payable at $20,000 per academic year for four years
- International President’s Entrance Scholarships
- 3 awards valued at $100,000 each
- Faculty Entrance Scholarships
- Up to 15 awards of $30,000 ($12,000 in year one; $6,000 annually for years two to four)
- National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards
- Up to 46 awards of $2,500 for up to 4 months (one term)
- $5,000 for study periods exceeding 4 months (more than one term)
