For the fifth consecutive year, the British Council is launching its global Women in STEM Scholarship Programme in partnership with selected UK universities. This initiative aims to increase the participation of women in STEM by providing financial support to outstanding female students from eligible countries.
The British Council Women in STEM Scholarship enables successful applicants to complete a one-year Master’s degree in the UK. The programme is targeted at women who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a strong desire to contribute to STEM fields while serving as role models and ambassadors for women in science and technology.
Eligibility Requirements
To be qualified for the British Council Women in STEM Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be a woman
- Be able to commence studies in the UK for the 2026–2027 academic year (September/October intake)
- Demonstrate a clear need for financial support
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for admission into a selected STEM Master’s programme at a UK university
- Be able to meet the English language requirements for postgraduate study at a UK institution
- Be active in the field with:
