Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the British Council Language Teachers Training Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a 2:1, or predicted 2:1, in a Bachelor of Honours degree (or equivalent),
- or possess a relevant Master’s degree or PhD, or a recognised equivalent
- Have academic qualifications in one of the following languages:
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Applicants with a Bachelor of Honours degree in another subject, or a 2:2 (or predicted 2:2), may also be considered if they can demonstrate significant knowledge of the target language
- Must have secured a place on an eligible non-salaried languages teacher training scheme in England for the 2025/26 academic year by September 2025
