Fellowship Details
The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge invites applications for the British Academy International Fellowship scheme. The fellowship aims to attract and retain emerging international researchers in the UK while strengthening global research collaborations.
It seeks to support high-quality, innovative research, promote knowledge exchange, provide training opportunities, and build long-term academic partnerships. Fellows will engage in research aligned with a UK host researcher and contribute to an internationally connected research workforce.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the British Academy International Fellowship, applicants must:
- Academic Requirement:
- Hold a PhD, or be in the final stages of completing one, with the viva and final approval completed before the fellowship start date.
- Provide confirmation of PhD award before fellowship approval.
- Career Stage:
- Have no more than seven years of full-time postdoctoral experience at the time of application (teaching experience, industry time, and career breaks are considered).
- Location & Citizenship:
- Be working outside the UK.
- Must not hold UK citizenship.
- Competence:
- Demonstrate strong oral and written English ability.
- Research Proposal:
- Have a well-structured, mutually beneficial research proposal agreed upon with a UK host researcher.
Fellowship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Two-year fellowship support at 80% FEC
- Research expenses up to £12,000
- Relocation support up to £8,000
- Justification of requested research and relocation funds is required during application.
