The Aziz Foundation Scholarship seeks to empower emerging leaders who demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities and possess the potential to inspire change in their respective fields. Scholarships are exclusively awarded to British Muslims with relevant experience, who are committed to personal and professional progression in areas such as Law, Journalism, Arts & Culture, Sports, Sustainability, Grant, Philanthropy, and Technology.
Applicants must qualify for Home Fees status in the UK, meaning applications from international students will not be considered. The program emphasizes the development of skills and expertise that will allow recipients to make meaningful contributions to society and positively impact British Muslim communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be eligible for Home Fees status
- Be active within a Muslim community and demonstrate knowledge of issues affecting British Muslim communities
- Show long-term commitment to community or societal development within the UK
- Demonstrate how their chosen course will increase their effectiveness in one or more of the following areas:
- Effective Advocacy and Public Perception: Facilitating better representation of Muslims in civil society, combating Islamophobia, and positively transforming perceptions of British Muslims
- Community Service and Social Development: Raising aspirations and standards within British Muslim communities

The scholarship targets British Muslims who are committed to progression in the following areas:
- Media & Journalism: Promoting diversity and ensuring fair and accurate reporting
- Technology: Innovators and disruptors offering transformational solutions to societal challenges
- Sustainability/Environment: Leaders in environmental protection and climate action
- Law: High-aspiring legal professionals, particularly those aiming to become judges (excluding conversion courses)
- Policy: Individuals passionate about influencing public policy (excluding Health Policy) for equitable outcomes
- Arts & Culture: Creatives shaping public discourse around Islam and Muslims
- Sports: Individuals advancing excellence in sports through administration, management, and performance
Please note: Applications for science, health policy, or mathematics courses will not be considered.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted online and require:
- Details of previous education and work experience
- Evidence of financial means
- A statement of no more than 1,000 words explaining how you meet the Foundation’s criteria
- Names of two referees
