Scholarship Details
The Axel Adler Scholarship is offered annually to high-achieving international students who are required to pay tuition fees in Sweden and who apply to an international, campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg as their first priority.
The scholarship covers the full tuition fee for the entire duration of the programme but does not cover living or accommodation expenses. Selection is competitive and based primarily on academic merit, as well as the applicant’s motivation and suitability for the chosen programme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden
- Apply for an international, campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg as first priority
- Have applied for and been admitted into:
- A full-time Master’s programme, or
- One of the following full-time Bachelor’s programmes:
- Software Engineering
- International Relations
- Business and Economics
- BFA Programme in Metal Art
- BFA Programme in Wood Oriented Furniture Design
- BFA Programme in Craft with Specialisation in Crafting Futures
- Submit the application for studies by January 15, 2026
- Pay the application fee and document eligibility for studies by February 2, 2026 via universityadmissions.se
- Have the University of Gothenburg programme listed as first priority on January 15, 2026
- Receive an official email invitation and apply for the scholarship between February 10 – 28, 2026
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Axel Adler Scholarship will receive:
- Full tuition fee coverage for the entire programme duration:
- Master’s programmes:
- 2 years / 120 credits
- 1 year / 60 credits (for selected programmes such as Investigative Journalism)
- Bachelor’s programmes:
- 3 years / 180 credits
- Master’s programmes:
- Student insurance coverage under FAS+, issued by Kammarkollegiet
Note:
- The scholarship does not cover living, accommodation, or travel expenses
- Scholars must complete at least 75% of credits per semester to retain the scholarship

- Write a Letter of Motivation highlighting academic strengths and suitability for the programme

- Complete the scholarship application between February 10 – 28, 2026 by:
