Scholarship Details
The Simonis Lab at Auburn University is accepting applications from graduate students to carry out research on seasonal pathogen dynamics and bat health across various field sites and highway culverts throughout Alabama.
Graduate students will develop independent research projects within the lab’s broader mission, focusing on:
- Year-round shifts in bat infections and coinfections
- Seasonal changes in bat immunity under stressors like infections, contaminants, and land use
- General ecological and conservation research relating to bat health in the southeastern US
Research will include a mix of fieldwork, lab work, and quantitative analysis. PhD candidates are preferred, though highly qualified Master’s students will also be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Auburn University Graduate Assistantship, applicants must meet the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or wildlife-related field
- Strong motivation and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Capability to develop research questions

Responsibilities for Auburn University Scholarship
