The AbdulSamad Rabiu Africa Initiative invites applications from young Africans for the 4th Cohort of the International Professional Development Program (IPDP). The program is specifically designed to prepare young people for impactful careers in the development sector by combining structured learning with real-world professional exposure.
The ASR Africa International Professional Development Program is a highly competitive placement initiative that blends internship and volunteer opportunities to strengthen participants’ capacity, leadership skills, and sector knowledge. Through intentional learning objectives, beneficiaries receive guided supervision from ASR Africa specialists, alongside continuous observation, evaluation, and feedback aimed at personal and professional growth. The program also emphasizes practical engagement, accountability, and measurable outcomes that align with participants’ long-term career ambitions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the ASR Africa International Professional Development Program 2026, applicants must:
- Be an African
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution
All ASR IPDP 2026 interns must also:
- Present an expectation analysis at the point of registration and clearly link it to their future career ambitions
- Prepare and deliver weekly PowerPoint presentations on assigned tasks and learning outcomes
- Identify a grant opportunity and submit a grant application before the end of the program
