Scholarship Details
The African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training 2025 is an educational initiative aimed at equipping African youth with essential knowledge and practical skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. The program also aims to strengthen the capacity of women educators to deliver effective instruction in digital and STEAM-related subjects.
This program is spearheaded by the African Union International Center for Girls and Women’s Education in Africa (CIEFFA), a specialized institution under the African Union Commission’s Department of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (ESTI). It is co-hosted by ImpactHER, an organization committed to closing the gender gap in business financing and empowering African women entrepreneurs.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the 2025 African Union Capacity Building Training, applicants must:
- Be an African man or woman
- Show motivation to learn digital, entrepreneurial, and financial literacy skills
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and a strong commitment to advancing girls’ and women’s education
- Have access to a reliable internet connection and a functional device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer)
- Understand and communicate clearly in one of the following languages: English, French, or Portuguese
- Hold African citizenship and be residing either on the continent or in the diaspora
Scholarship Benefits
Participants in the African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training will:
- Receive training in gender equality in education, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy
- Earn certificates in each focus area (subject to 80% minimum attendance in each program)
- Join the African Union CIEFFA and ImpactHER networks
- Gain eligibility for fully funded in-person programs organized by African Union CIEFFA
- Access additional fully sponsored online training opportunities provided by ImpactHER
