Scholarship Details
The African Leadership University Mastercard Foundation Scholarship is designed to provide access to quality education for Africa’s most promising young leaders who face financial or economic barriers. The scholarship enables talented students from across the continent to pursue studies at ALU through an innovative learning model that blends academic learning with real-world experience and empowers students to take ownership of their education.
Since the beginning of the Mastercard Foundation–ALU partnership, over 768 scholars have been enrolled across ALU programmes, with a strong focus on inclusion, as a significant proportion of beneficiaries are young women, refugees and displaced persons, as well as students living with disabilities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the African Leadership University Mastercard Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Demonstrate financial need or economic hardship
- Show strong leadership potential
- Be passionate about the development of the African continent
- Apply for an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at African Leadership University (ALU)
