Scholarship Details
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is designed for outstanding students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries who are applying to graduate programs at the University of Twente. The award is intended to attract academically excellent students who rank among the top 5–10% of their class, while also providing them with the opportunity to participate in one of the university’s three exclusive honors programs: Research Honors, Design Honors, or Change Leaders.
The scholarship provides recipients with financial support ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one academic year, helping to cover essential study-related costs. For students pursuing a two-year Master’s degree, the scholarship may be renewed for the second year, provided academic performance and progress requirements are met.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2026 University of Twente Scholarship, applicants must:
- First apply for and secure admission into a Master’s program at the University of Twente
- Possess a student number issued by UT
- Not be a current undergraduate student at the University of Twente (graduates are eligible)
- Meet visa entry requirements for the Netherlands (if applicable)
- Comply with the general English language requirements:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall, with at least 6.0 in speaking
- TOEFL iBT: 90 overall, with at least 20 in speaking
- (English test not required for applicants from English-speaking countries)
- Not be eligible for a Dutch study loan
- Belong to the top 5–10% of academic performers in their class
Scholarship Reward
- Scholarship value: €3,000 – €22,000 per year
- The award is granted for one academic year as compensation for study-related costs
- For two-year Master’s programs, students may receive a second-year scholarship equal to the first year’s amount if they meet progress requirements, including:
- Achieving an average grade of 7/10 at the end of the third quartile of year one
- Earning at least 50% of European Credits (ECs) by the same period
- Additional UTS awards may be available for programs beginning in September
