Scholarship Details
The Said Foundation Scholarship was established in 1982 by Mr. Wafic and Mrs. Rosemary Saïd in memory of their son and has since empowered hundreds of outstanding students from the Middle East to pursue advanced academic studies. Registered as a UK charity, the Foundation has operated its Scholarships Programme since 1984, providing access to quality education and training that drives professional growth and national development.
The program is open to any academic discipline, as long as the applicant can demonstrate how the chosen field of study will support the advancement and transformation of their home country. The scholarship also prioritizes leadership potential and a strong commitment to returning home to make a meaningful impact.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Said Foundation Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 classification or higher (final year students may also apply)
- Be a citizen of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, or Palestine, and permanently reside in one of these countries
- (Syrians living abroad may also be considered due to the country’s current crisis)
- Have relevant work or volunteer experience aligned with their field of study
- Show a clear post-study career path focused on contributing to their home country
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential in their chosen area
- Apply to a partner university of the Foundation (or provide valid reasons for choosing a non-partner institution)
- Meet both the Foundation’s and the university’s English language requirements
- Be prepared to upload all required supporting documents
Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates for the Said Foundation Scholarship 2026 will receive:
- Full tuition fees
- Living/maintenance allowance for the entire course duration
- Arrival allowance
- Visa fees and healthcare surcharge
- One return economy flight ticket
Note: Special funding arrangements exist for students admitted to the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, as well as for those under the Chevening-Said partnership.

- University transcripts and graduation certificate (or all transcripts to date if in final year)
- Passport or national ID (must be from one of the eligible countries)
- English language proficiency certificate
- Offer letter(s) from UK university/universities (or proof of application)

- Updated CV (maximum two pages, no photograph)
