Program Details
The National Girls in ICT Programme is a team-based initiative designed to empower girls between the ages of 10 and 16 (JS1–SS3). The program encourages participants to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions that address pressing challenges in Agriculture, Education, or Health within their communities.
Through this initiative, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy seeks to promote female participation in the ICT sector, inspire young girls to pursue careers in technology, and nurture the next generation of digital leaders in Nigeria.
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas, refine their technical skills through structured training, and compete at regional and national levels.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 2026 National Girls in ICT Competition, applicants must:
- Be a girl enrolled in a secondary school in Nigeria
- Be between 10 and 16 years old
- Be ready to demonstrate creativity and innovation in ICT-related fields
- Form a team of 2–3 girls
- Obtain school approval
- Provide parent/guardian consent
- Submit only one entry per team
