Applications are currently open for the 2025/26 AUB Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, a fully funded opportunity designed for exceptional young Africans.
Through its partnership with the American University of Beirut, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offers full funding for postgraduate and PhD studies. The initiative aims to build a new generation of leaders who will drive positive transformation in their communities and countries.
Beyond tuition coverage, the program provides mentorship, leadership training, tutoring, internship opportunities, and career guidance to support holistic personal and academic development.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the AUB Mastercard Foundation Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of or refugees residing in Africa.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance in previous studies.
- Show leadership potential and a commitment to community service.
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Exhibit financial need.
- Commit to attending all training sessions, workshops, and activities of the Scholars Program.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English through TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET) scores.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected scholars will receive:
- Full coverage of tuition, accommodation, and living expenses.
- A laptop and academic materials.
- Travel, visa, and medical insurance costs.

Program Duration: 5 months of intensive academic and leadership engagement.
How to Apply
Interested applicants should:
- Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload all required documents before the deadline.
- Select “Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program” under the Financial Opportunities section.
- Submit the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be activated 1–3 days after the graduate admission application is submitted.
- Submit the required RUSE (Readiness for University Studies in English) scores.
