The University of Montana Graduate Scholarship is recruiting a PhD student to conduct research on the transboundary movements of large carnivores between Glacier National Park and the Blackfeet Nation in Montana.
The research project is a collaborative effort involving the University of Montana, SUNY ESF, Glacier National Park, USDA Wildlife Services, and the Blackfeet Nation.
The three-year study will collect baseline information on the distribution, density, movements, habitat use, and prey selection of wolves and lions along the Glacier National Park and Blackfeet Nation boundary. The findings will contribute to the development and improvement of management plans for both lions and wolves.
