Professor Ashley Helton is inviting applications from motivated PhD candidates interested in freshwater ecosystem ecology and biogeochemistry to join the Helton and Lawrence research groups at the University of Connecticut beginning in January or June 2027.
The selected student will become part of an interdisciplinary research team studying how beaver-created ecosystems across the Northeastern United States influence freshwater carbon cycling. As a Graduate Assistant, the successful applicant will conduct field research focused on greenhouse gas dynamics, ecosystem metabolism, and carbon storage in ponds, wetlands, and streams while receiving full financial support throughout the programme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Connecticut Graduate Scholarship 2027, applicants must:
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Have at least one year of post-baccalaureate research experience.
- Possess fieldwork experience.
