Organized by The World Around, the Young Climate Prize seeks outstanding young people whose projects are creating meaningful impact within their communities. Selected finalists will gain access to mentorship, leadership training, networking opportunities, and a global platform to showcase their climate solutions.

Program Details
The Young Climate Prize is a global initiative that recognizes and supports young people who are actively leading projects that contribute to climate action and environmental sustainability. Held every two years, the program selects 25 exceptional young climate leaders from around the world whose work demonstrates measurable impact in addressing climate-related challenges.
Projects may focus on areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate education, conservation, waste management, community development, and other innovative climate solutions. The program welcomes applications from both individuals and small teams of up to three members.
Through the Young Climate Prize, finalists will participate in The World Around Design Academy, where they will receive expert mentorship, practical training, and strategic guidance to strengthen and expand their initiatives. Participants will also become part of a global network of changemakers and may be invited to present their projects at The World Around Summit in New York City.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Young Climate Prize 2027, applicants must:
- Be between 13 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Be from any country around the world.
- Apply as an individual or as part of a group of up to three members.
- Ensure that all group members meet the eligibility requirements.
- Be the founder or co-founder of an active climate-related project.
- Be actively involved in leading the project.
- Demonstrate measurable impact in addressing, reducing, or mitigating the effects of climate change within their community.
- Have a project related to climate action, sustainability, environmental protection, conservation, education, design innovation, or related fields.

Nomination Process
The Young Climate Prize also accepts nominations from individuals, organizations, educators, and community leaders.
- Anyone may nominate a young person or group working on a climate-focused project.
- A nomination is not considered a complete application.
- Nominated individuals will be contacted and encouraged to submit their own application.
- Self-nominations and third-party nominations are treated equally during the selection process.
