Scholarship Details
The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2027 is an international research program designed to support foreign scholars and researchers interested in conducting advanced studies related to Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. The fellowship aims to strengthen academic collaboration and encourage research contributions in fields such as Taiwan studies, Sinology, cross-strait relations, and regional policy issues.
Through this fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to conduct research in Taiwan’s universities and academic institutions while gaining access to modern research facilities, methodologies, and scholarly resources. Fellows will also benefit from a supportive academic environment that encourages professional growth, international collaboration, and deeper understanding of Taiwan’s culture, society, and political landscape.
Depending on the nature and scope of the research project, selected fellows may stay in Taiwan for a period ranging from 3 to 12 months beginning from January 2027. The fellowship also provides financial support including monthly grants, travel assistance, and insurance coverage for selected participants.

Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2027 will receive:
- Monthly grant support as follows:

- NT$60,000 per month
- Assistant professors, assistant research fellows, or doctoral students:
- NT$50,000 per month

- One round-trip economy class airfare ticket
- Accident and medical insurance coverage worth NT$1 million
- Opportunity to conduct research in Taiwan and experience Taiwanese culture and society
