As part of its commitment to increasing the global appeal of its academic programs, the University of Siena offers the International Excellence Scholarship to exceptional international students enrolling in selected Master’s degree programs (Lauree Magistrali).
The scholarship is specifically intended for students who hold non-Italian citizenship and obtained their previous academic qualifications outside Italy. Through this initiative, the university aims to create a more diverse and internationally enriched learning environment by attracting talented students from across the world.
The scholarship supports students financially throughout their studies and encourages high-achieving candidates to pursue postgraduate education in Italy at one of the country’s respected institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Siena International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a non-Italian Bachelor’s degree that qualifies them for admission into a Master’s degree program in Italy.
- Not possess Italian citizenship, except candidates with dual citizenship including Italian citizenship.
- Not be residents of Italy.
- Have applied for at least one eligible Master’s degree program through the official application portal.
- Meet all admission procedures and deadlines specified by the university.
- Be eligible to apply for a maximum of two Master’s programs.
- Have either submitted their application for evaluation or already received admission confirmation for an eligible program.
For the purpose of this scholarship, the following are considered residents of Italy:
- Non-EU citizens holding a valid Italian residence permit allowing university enrollment without a new student visa.
- EU or EU-equated citizens who have continuously resided in Italy for more than nine months.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Siena International Excellence Scholarship will receive:
- €6,000 annual scholarship award
- Total funding of €12,000 over two years
