Graduates of the programme become part of the HRDA Alumni Association, a network of over 500 professionals actively contributing to human rights work across grassroots organizations, civil service institutions, the African Union, the United Nations, and other international organizations.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the University of Pretoria LLM Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of any African country
- Be invited to apply for admission into the Master’s Degree (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria
- Possess a first degree in Law (LLB, licence en droit, or licenciatura em direito) or an Honours degree related to human rights and democratisation
- Demonstrate strong academic, professional, and personal commitment to human rights and democratisation in Africa

- Meet the programme’s geographic representation requirements to ensure broad African participation
