Program Details

The European Union Traineeship Program is designed for young graduates who are passionate about international relations and interested in understanding the workings of diplomatic missions. This traineeship will run for up to six months within the Political, Press, and Information (PPI) Section of the EU Delegation, starting in July 2026. Participants will gain practical exposure to how the EU represents its interests and values, particularly in relation to the African Union.

The program also provides insights into key sectors managed by the EU Delegation, including agriculture, climate action, renewable energy, digital innovation, youth employment, MSMEs, and investment, offering a well-rounded experience in global development and policy implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the European Union Traineeship Program, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria
  • Be currently residing in Abuja, Nigeria
  • Be a young graduate with at least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Have less than one year of professional experience after graduation
  • Have no prior experience exceeding six weeks in EU Institutions
