The General Ibrahim Attahiru Foundation Scholarship was established to honour the legacy of the late 21st Chief of Army Staff, General Ibrahim Attahiru, while also supporting educational opportunities for young Nigerians connected to the Nigerian Army.
Following the third anniversary of his passing on May 21, 2024, the GIAF Scholarship Board initiated the second priority area of the foundation’s mission, which focuses on providing scholarships to children and dependents of serving, retired, and deceased Nigerian Army personnel and veterans in Nigerian universities.
Beginning with the 2026/27 academic session, the program aims to identify talented young people with strong academic records and provide them with the financial support needed to pursue university education. The initiative seeks to nurture capable youths and empower them to become future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
