Scholarship Details
The British Council English and School Education Scholarship is an international scholarship initiative developed in collaboration with the University of Portsmouth and the University of Stirling. The program is designed to strengthen English language teaching (ELT) in government school systems across selected countries including Ghana, Kenya, Türkiye, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka.
Through this scholarship, selected candidates will enroll in flexible part-time master’s degree programs focused on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). The program is delivered fully online and typically runs for up to 30 months, allowing participants to continue working while studying.
Scholars will begin their studies in September 2026 and will also participate in a two-week academic study visit to the United Kingdom. This visit provides opportunities for in-person learning, professional collaboration, networking with international educators, and cultural exchange.
Participants will gain access to expert UK faculty members, specialized learning resources, and professional mentorship, helping them develop advanced knowledge in teacher development, English language instruction, and educational leadership.
Upon completion of the program, scholars will become part of the British Council’s global alumni network, which promotes continuous professional development and international collaboration among educators.
