The Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship 2026 will sponsor 25 young African leaders who are creating meaningful change in their communities, particularly those helping young people transition from learning to earning through initiatives focused on education, employability, and entrepreneurship.
The One Young World Summit will take place from 3 – 6 November 2026 in Cape Town, bringing together youth leaders from across the world to collaborate, share ideas, and develop solutions to global challenges.

Scholarship Details
The Z Zurich Foundation, working alongside One Young World, is providing a fully funded opportunity for emerging African leaders to participate in the 2026 One Young World Summit in Cape Town. The initiative aims to empower young changemakers who are actively developing solutions that help young people move from education into sustainable employment through entrepreneurship, employability programs, and skills development.
Through this scholarship, 25 young African leaders will be selected to attend the summit scheduled for 3 – 6 November 2026. The program aligns with the foundation’s broader mission of building a better future for vulnerable communities by addressing major global challenges such as climate change adaptation, mental well-being, social equity, and crisis response.
Particular emphasis is placed on the “enabling social equity” pillar, which supports initiatives designed to address barriers faced by young people in low-income and underserved communities. The One Young World platform brings together youth leaders from around the world to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and strengthen global networks that can drive impactful solutions to societal problems.
This fully funded scholarship covers participation in the summit and provides additional learning opportunities through pre- and post-summit programs designed to strengthen leadership capacity, expand networks, and increase the long-term impact of selected participants. The opportunity is especially suitable for young leaders already running initiatives and committed to creating measurable positive change in their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Z Zurich Foundation Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old by the time the summit takes place.
- Be citizens of and currently residing in an African country.
- Have a proven track record of creating positive impact in their communities.
- Be leading or managing an initiative that helps young people transition from learning to earning.
- Have a formally registered organisation with a clear not-for-profit mission and an official organisational bank account.
- Be playing a key leadership role in the project or initiative.
