The University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship provides an opportunity for international students to pursue advanced studies through a fully funded research position at the university. The opportunity is hosted in the lab of Alexa Ferdinands, PhD, RD, an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences – Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science.
Selected students will participate in a community-based qualitative research project focused on food literacy among young people in Edmonton. The research will examine how youths understand nutrition and health, how they make food-related decisions, and how their surrounding food environments influence their choices.
This project is designed for students who are interested in public health nutrition, qualitative research methods, and community-engaged research. The position provides strong mentorship, hands-on research experience, and an opportunity to contribute to impactful research that supports youth health and nutrition awareness.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:
