The DAAD MIDE Scholarship at HTW Berlin, the largest university of applied sciences in Berlin, offers an 18-month full-time Master’s program in International and Development Economics (MIDE). The program targets students from developing and transitional countries, as well as candidates from developed nations who have a strong interest in addressing global economic and development challenges. The course prepares graduates to work in areas related to international economic policy, development cooperation, and global economic affairs.

The Master’s in International and Development Economics (MIDE) is particularly suited for applicants who hold a first degree in economics, business administration, or other social sciences with a focus on economics. The program aims to build expertise in analyzing economic issues affecting developing countries while preparing students for impactful roles in international organizations, government institutions, NGOs, and research bodies.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2026/27, applicants must:

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants of the DAAD EPOS Scholarship (which includes the MIDE program) will receive:

  • Health, accident, and personal liability insurance coverage

Under certain circumstances, scholars may also receive:
