Scholarship Details
The Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a clear commitment to using their education to positively impact society. The Foundation seeks individuals who show excellence in their studies and a passion for contributing meaningfully to their communities.
Beneficiaries are expected to apply their knowledge and talents toward improving the lives of others after completing their education. In the long term, the Foundation envisions building a strong network of leaders who will contribute individually and collectively to the development of Abia State and Nigeria as a whole.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be currently in 2nd year (200 Level) in any government-owned tertiary institution in Nigeria
- Have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (for universities) or its equivalent in other tertiary institutions during their first academic session (100 Level)
- Not be a sibling (children of the same parents) of a current Alex Otti Foundation scholar until the ongoing scholarship tenure is completed
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Statement of Result for the first academic session (100 Level), signed by the Department/Faculty Administrative Officer (authorized representative of the Registrar)
- Letter of recognition from a community or religious leader OR electricity utility bill from the last three months to confirm current residence in Abia State
- A 1200-word essay, divided into three (3) sections explaining:
- Their nuclear family background and their role within it
- An experience where they contributed to a community and the impact made
- Their views on giving back to society
- Valid means of identification
