Scholarship Details
The Auburn University Graduate Assistantship is an MSc opportunity commencing in May or September 2026 at Auburn University, in partnership with the University of Northern British Columbia.
This collaborative research project, conducted alongside the British Columbia Ministry of Forests, explores how interacting disturbances and climate change are transforming forest development patterns in northern British Columbia.
The research combines ecological theory with applied forest management practices, offering practical exposure to field ecology, quantitative data analysis, and multi-scale disturbance evaluation.
The selected MSc student will examine how disturbance legacies influence forest regeneration, stand structure, tree growth, and carbon dynamics. The research approach will integrate field-based forest assessments, dendrochronology (tree-ring analysis), and advanced geospatial technologies such as drone-based LiDAR and satellite remote sensing.
