The Wema Bank Bankers-in-Training (Sales) Program is a structured entry-level development program tailored to equip young professionals with both foundational and advanced competencies required to thrive in sales and relationship management within the banking sector.
The initiative is designed to strengthen participants’ commercial capabilities through intensive classroom sessions and practical experience. It focuses on developing customer acquisition skills, deep product knowledge, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial, corporate, retail, and SME banking operations.
The program follows a regional training model, with sessions conducted in major locations across Nigeria, including Lagos and Ibadan (South-West), Abuja (North), and Port Harcourt (South-East, Mid-West, and South-South regions).
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Wema Bank BIT Program 2026, applicants must:
- Possess a minimum of Second Class Upper (or equivalent) in any Business or Social Science-related discipline from an accredited university
- Have at least 5 credits (including Mathematics and English) in WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent
- Be not older than 26 years at the time of application
- Have completed NYSC with a valid discharge certificate
- Demonstrate strong interest in sales, client relationship management, and financial solutions
- Have 0–2 years of experience in sales or relationship management (added advantage)
- Show passion for sales and banking sector growth
- Possess strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work effectively in a target-driven environment
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
