Scholarship Details
The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Arizona State University is a fully immersive, traditional two-year, on-campus Master’s program with a strong focus on developing EdTech and leadership experts for Africa. Through a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and ASU, a total of 120 young African professionals will be trained over a five-year period (2025–2030). For the 2026/2027 academic session, 30 fully funded scholarships are available, covering complete tuition, accommodation, and comprehensive academic and personal support. While classes are in session, Scholars will also have the opportunity to work part-time with the Baobab team, gaining hands-on experience in implementing the strategic objectives of the Baobab Platform. In addition to financial support, participants will engage in leadership training, individualized mentorship, and community-focused programming under the broader Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU.

Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Arizona State University 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African country
  • Demonstrate commitment to ethical leadership and active community engagement
  • Be between 18 and 33 years old on or before the application deadline
  • Show a proven record of leadership and service
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance with limited financial means
  • Have earned an undergraduate degree by July 2026
  • Have no prior or current enrollment in a Master’s degree program

Scholarship Duration and Reward
The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship will cover:
