The Kwara State Government has announced that schools across the state will resume academic activities on Monday, February 2, 2026.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, noting that school authorities have already been informed of the decision. He explained that the move follows sustained security operations aimed at addressing threats to public safety, including those affecting educational institutions.
According to the commissioner, the current security situation has shown marked improvement compared to previous weeks, although the government remains alert. He added that security agencies are continuing operations to consolidate recent gains, while the state has also intensified community-based measures to enhance safety in and around schools.
