The Federal Government has announced the opening of the application portal for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into federal technical colleges across the country, reaffirming its commitment to providing free technical and vocational education.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, following the approval of the initiative by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.
According to the minister, registration for the NCEE will begin on January 26 and end on May 24, while the examination is scheduled to hold nationwide on June 6.
Alausa explained that the exercise is in line with the federal government’s strategy to widen access to quality technical and vocational education and to equip young Nigerians with practical, employable and industry-relevant skills.
He advised interested candidates to complete their registration through the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) online portal at https://student.nabteb.gov.ng, noting that possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for successful application.
The minister further reiterated that education in federal technical colleges is fully funded upon admission, emphasizing the government’s dedication to human capital development, youth empowerment and increased national productivity.
He added that applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 20, urging parents, guardians and candidates to adhere strictly to the stipulated guidelines.
Alausa assured that the ministry remains committed to expanding access to free and quality technical education to empower youths, promote self-reliance and support national economic growth and sustainable development.
