Scholarship Details

The University of Leeds Ferguson Scholarship is a one-year fully funded award designed for applicants from developing countries who intend to pursue a full-time taught Master’s degree in selected academic schools at the University of Leeds. Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a developing country
  • Be willing to undertake a one-year full-time taught Master’s programme in a selected School at the University of Leeds
  • Choose a course related to the economic, social, or technological development of their home country
  • Hold, or expect to hold by September 2026, a First Degree equivalent to at least a UK Upper Second Class Honours (2:1)
  • Have completed their undergraduate degree or be in their final year of study
  • Meet the University of Leeds English Language requirements by February 2, 2026 (where applicable)
  • Not have previously studied for one year or more in a developed country
  • Demonstrate inability to self-fund or receive sufficient family support to study in the UK
  • Be liable to pay tuition fees at the international student rate
