The IRIS @ NUS Internship provides outstanding undergraduate and master’s students from around the world with an opportunity to gain immersive research experience at one of Asia’s top-ranked universities. Scholarship Details
The Internship and Research Immersion in Singapore (IRIS) @ NUS is a fully funded two-to-three-month research internship programme designed to expose participants to graduate-level research at the National University of Singapore. Through this programme, interns are integrated into active research groups where they contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects while gaining practical research experience in their chosen field.
During the internship period, participants work in NUS laboratories under the close supervision of experienced faculty members who provide guidance, mentorship, and academic support. The programme also allows interns to experience life within one of Asia’s most dynamic and innovative research environments. At the end of the programme, successful participants receive a Certificate of Completion from the NUS Graduate School.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the IRIS @ NUS Internship 2026, applicants must:
- Be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting programme
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study or be in the first year of a master’s programme
- Possess a strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in academic and scientific research
- Maintain active student status throughout the internship period
The programme is open to applicants from all academic disciplines and nationalities.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the IRIS @ NUS Internship will receive:
- Monthly stipend of SGD 1,200
- SGD 600 travel allowance
- Complimentary on-campus accommodation
- Certificate of Completion from the NUS Graduate School
- Immersive research experience and close faculty mentorship
