Internship Details
The UNICEF-hosted Education Cannot Wait (ECW) programme is the world’s leading global fund for education in emergencies—supporting children and youth affected by conflict, disasters, and crises. Through the ECW Internship, participants gain hands-on exposure to data analysis, research, monitoring and evaluation, grant management, reporting, and program support across global humanitarian contexts.
Interns work closely with ECW’s Monitoring & Evaluation and Program teams, collaborating with international staff and contributing to global education response efforts. This program provides structured mentorship, capacity-building opportunities, and professional development support throughout the 5–6 month internship period.
Program Responsibilities
- Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing education-related data
- Supporting program performance monitoring activities
- Assisting with donor reports and global results reporting
- Conducting research for education and humanitarian policy projects
- Tracking grants and implementation progress
- Supporting knowledge management and communications tasks
- Collaborating across international teams and time zones

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, or have graduated within the last 2–3 years
- Have a background in Education, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, Data Analysis, or related fields
- Possess excellent writing, analytical, and research skills
- Be able to work according to Geneva (CET) hours, especially for remote positions
- Be proficient in English (additional languages are an asset)
- Have experience with Excel, PowerBI, R, or Stata (an advantage)
