The Erasmus Mundus EDISS Scholarship provides a €1400 monthly stipend alongside a full participation cost waiver for the complete duration of the EDISS Master’s programme.
All selected scholars will graduate with a double Master’s degree jointly awarded by Åbo Akademi University and the institution where they complete their second-year specialization.

Scholarship Details
The Erasmus Mundus EDISS Scholarship is a two-year academic programme (120 ECTS) developed through a partnership among four European universities. Åbo Akademi University in Finland is the entry point for all students, after which scholars will proceed to a partner institution in their second year based on their chosen specialization.
The programme connects specialists in software engineering, data-intensive systems, artificial intelligence, and intelligent software design. By merging expertise across data processing, decision-making, software architecture, DataOps, and experimentation frameworks, EDISS creates a space for innovation, knowledge sharing, and the development of impactful, industry-ready solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Engineering of Data-Intensive Intelligent Software Systems (EDISS) programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in computer science, software engineering, or any closely related field.
- Show strong English language proficiency through any of the following:
- TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 93
- IELTS Academic: overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6
