Scholarship Details
The Artificial Intelligence Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Programme is a two-year (120 ECTS) Master’s Degree designed to provide students with a thorough and practical grounding in Artificial Intelligence. Offered across four leading European research universities, the Erasmus Mundus Artificial Intelligence (EMAI) Scholarship equips students with the technical depth, contextual awareness, and hands-on experience required for advanced AI applications.
The participating universities include Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in Barcelona, Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, Radboud University in the Netherlands, and the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia—all globally recognised for high-level research and academic excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the EMAI Master’s Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must have completed:
- A first-cycle programme (minimum 180 ECTS) in information or communication technologies, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or any equivalent qualification in line with existing regulations
- A first-cycle programme of 180 ECTS in other professional fields, provided the applicant has met the essential prerequisite study requirements before enrolment
- A first-cycle programme of 180 ECTS in other fields, with 10–60 ECTS covering required courses as determined by the EMAI Academic Programme Committee
- The EMAI Academic Programme Committee will verify that applicants have completed:
- At least 12 ECTS in mathematics (calculus, algebra, logic, discrete mathematics, probability, etc.)
- At least 12 ECTS in programming (algorithms, data structures, programming paradigms)
- At least 12 ECTS in computing/computer engineering (cryptography, networks, hardware, security, etc.)
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- A monthly non-taxable stipend of €1400 for the full duration of the 24-month programme
- Coverage of all student participation costs, including tuition, full insurance, mandatory course-related fees, and contributions to travel and installation expenses
- A subsistence allowance for the entire 2-year programme
- Tuition-fee waivers for selected candidates
