Scholarship Details

The Kings College Commonwealth Shared Scholarship is awarded to talented students from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to pursue approved master’s degrees at King’s College London. This fully funded opportunity covers full tuition fees, airfare, and monthly stipends, alongside additional academic and living support.

The 2026/27 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme (CSSS) at King’s College London is available for the following full-time, campus-based master’s programmes:

  • MSc Mental Health Studies
  • MSc Global Mental Health
  • MSc Palliative Care
  • MRes Clinical Research

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the 2026 Kings College Commonwealth Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of, or have been granted refugee status by, an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be available to begin academic studies in the UK by September 2026.
  • Hold by September 2026 a first degree with at least a 2:1, or a 2:2 plus a relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Not have studied or worked for more than one academic year in a high-income country.
  • Demonstrate financial need and inability to study in the UK without the scholarship.
  • Provide all required supporting documents before the deadlines.

Applicants must also:

  • Meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen course.
  • Be sufficiently proficient in English.
  • Be willing to return to their home country immediately after the programme.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides:

  • Monthly stipend of £1,452 or £1,781

How to Apply

To apply for the Kings College Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, candidates must:

  • Submit an application to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) via the CSC’s online application system by 16:00 (UK Time), 9 December 2025.
  • Submit a complete King’s College London online admission application for one of the approved programmes by 12 January 2026.

Eligible applications will be reviewed by King’s College London, and shortlisted candidates will be nominated to the CSC by 10 March 2026. Final decisions are made by the CSC, and applicants should expect results by July 2026.

Applicants are strongly advised to submit both applications early. Failure to meet either deadline results in automatic ineligibility.
