Scholarship Details
Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is currently accepting applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship – High Level Postgraduate Program and the Chinese Government Scholarship – Silk Road Program for the 2026 academic year. These programs are designed to attract outstanding international students to pursue postgraduate studies in China.
The scholarship duration is three years for Master’s programs and four years for Doctoral programs, with some courses offered in English and others in Chinese. These scholarships are sponsored by the Ministry of Education, P.R.C, and aim to support exceptional students worldwide in developing high-level academic and research capacity.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Dalian University Chinese Government Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens in good health
- Master’s Applicants: Hold a Bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old
- Doctoral Applicants: Hold a Master’s degree and be under 40 years old
Language Requirements:
- Applicants will undergo language evaluation by the department or instructor through interviews or written tests.
- For Chinese-taught programs:
- HSK 4 with 180+ (Science, Tech, Management & Economics)
- HSK 5 with 180+ (Humanities, Social Sciences & Philosophy)
- For English-taught programs:
- TOEFL ≥ 80 or IELTS ≥ 5.5
- Applicants who studied in English previously may submit an institutional English certificate
- Applicants from English-speaking countries are exempt from English proof

- Monthly living allowance:
- Master’s Students: ¥3,000 per month
- PhD Students: ¥3,500 per month

- Visa page scan (for applicants currently in China)
- Academic transcripts from undergraduate level upwards
- Study plan or research proposal (minimum 1000 words) in English or Chinese
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test results
- Copy of passport data page (valid beyond September 2024) and one blank visa page
- Language proficiency certificates (based on program requirements)
- No Criminal Record Certificate
- Notarized highest degree certificate
- One passport-sized photograph (3cm × 4cm)
