Scholarship Details
The African Development Bank is a continental financial institution committed to supporting economic development and social progress across Africa. The AfDB Young Professionals Program is a strategic talent development initiative created to build a future leadership pipeline for the Bank.
The program is designed to recruit and nurture highly skilled young professionals who demonstrate strong academic performance, professional competence, and passion for Africa’s development. Participants undergo structured training, job rotations, mentorship, and leadership development to equip them to contribute meaningfully to the Bank’s work both at its headquarters and within regional operations.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the AfDB Young Professionals Program, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an AfDB member country.
- Be 32 years old or younger by November 30, 2025.
- Hold a Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the Bank’s mission.
- Have at least 3 years of post-graduate work experience in areas aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities.
- Demonstrate professional experience in Africa or other developing regions.
- Show passion for Africa’s growth and transformation.
- Ability to:
- Work in diverse teams and multicultural environments.
- Demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Communicate effectively in English or French (working knowledge of the second language is an added advantage).
- Be willing to work in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and travel as required.
- Be proficient in standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
