Scholarship Details
For the 2026/27 academic session, the University of Warwick will allocate up to £5 million to fund the Chancellors International Scholarships. A total of 42 scholarships will be awarded to the most exceptional international PhD candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, innovative research potential, and a commitment to contributing to Warwick’s global research community.
The scholarship aims to recognize and support the best international researchers across all disciplines. As noted by Baroness Catherine Ashton, University of Warwick Chancellor, these scholars make invaluable contributions to Warwick’s vibrant global network of world-leading researchers.
This is a fully funded opportunity for qualified and ambitious international students who wish to undertake a PhD program at the University of Warwick.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Warwick Chancellors International Scholarship, applicants must:
- Apply for a PhD program at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2026
- Be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for tuition fee purposes (no nationality restriction)
- Be applying to any discipline offered at Warwick
- Note that scholarships cannot be deferred to another academic year
Scholarship Benefits
Successful recipients of the Warwick Chancellors International Scholarship will receive:
- Full payment of tuition fees
- A maintenance stipend at the prevailing UKRI rate (£21,300 per year) for up to 3.5 years
- A Research, Training and Supporting Grant (RTSG) worth £5,000
- For eligible candidates, financial support for UK immigration costs
How to Apply
To apply for the University of Warwick Chancellors International Scholarship, interested candidates should:
- Carefully read the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria
- Submit your PhD course application and upload all required supporting documents
- Receive an automated e-mail containing a 7-digit applicant ID number (allow up to 48 hours for delivery)
- Register your ITS applicant account using your ID number (note: the Doctoral College cannot issue ID numbers)
- Submit your scholarship application before the stated deadline — late applications will not be accepted
- Submit all supporting documents by the document deadline (to be announced) — late submissions will not be considered
Results of the Chancellors International Scholarship 2026 will be communicated to successful applicants by March 2026.
