The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that all courses with more than 400 registered students will now be conducted virtually with immediate effect.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the university explained that the decision was made in response to the limited capacity of its lecture halls and as part of its ongoing efforts to digitise academic delivery.

“This decision has become necessary in view of the current constraints posed by limited physical lecture room capacities and is in line with the University’s digitalisation drive, which seeks to leverage technology for more efficient teaching and learning delivery,” the statement read.

The university directed lecturers handling large-capacity courses to make adequate arrangements for conducting lectures, tutorials, and assessments through the institution’s approved virtual learning platforms. It also urged affected students to participate actively and comply with all online learning guidelines.

Deans of Faculties and Schools have been instructed to ensure strict enforcement of the directive and provide the necessary coordination and supervision for its smooth implementation.

LASU management expressed appreciation to staff and students for their cooperation and understanding, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, inclusiveness, and global competitiveness, in line with its vision of becoming a leading institution of higher learning in West Africa.
