The Abiola Ajimobi Technical University (Tech-U), Ibadan, has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025/2026 Josephus Foundation Scholarship, an initiative designed to support exceptionally brilliant but financially disadvantaged students.
The scholarship, endowed by the Josephus Foundation through the University’s Chancellor, Chief (Dr.) Tunde Afolabi (MFR), is merit-based, highly competitive, and partially funded. Under the scheme, the Foundation covers a portion of tuition fees, while beneficiaries are offered a flexible two-installment payment plan. The award is renewable annually throughout a student’s programme, provided recipients maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50.
According to the University, shortlisted applicants will sit for a competitive aptitude test on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be prospective students of Tech-U for the 2025/2026 admission cycle.
- Have accepted admission, be under consideration for admission, or be willing to change to Tech-U.
- Score a minimum of 160 in the 2025 UTME.
- Possess at least five O’Level credits at one sitting, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Agricultural Science/Geography (or other relevant subjects).
- For Direct Entry: hold at least three A’Level credits in relevant subjects or a National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit.
Beneficiaries must also pass the University’s Scholarship Screening Examination and maintain a CGPA of 3.50 each session to remain eligible for renewal. Admission is open to UTME and Direct Entry candidates (A’Level, JUPEB, IJMB, or equivalent), provided they upload their O’Level results at a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre.
Tech-U emphasized its unique advantages, including a fully digitalised learning environment, uninterrupted academic calendar, scholarship opportunities, entrepreneurship training, French language proficiency, international exchange partnerships, technical and vocational education, strong industry linkage, and blended learning (online and face-to-face).
