Scholarship Details

The Killam Scholarship and Prize Programs were established in memory of Izaak Walton Killam through the Will of his wife, Dorothy J. Killam, along with lifetime gifts made by her. Their mission is to support advanced education and research across Canadian universities and through the Canada Council for the Arts.

At UBC, the Killam Doctoral Scholarships are funded by the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies. Mrs. Killam’s wish was that recipients of these scholarships should be those “likely to contribute to the advancement of learning or to win distinction in a profession.”
