The internship is structured to serve as a foundation for potential future roles such as the Junior Analyst position – a two-year full-time opportunity offered to top-performing interns upon graduation. Interns will work closely with Treasury teams, participating in real-world financial operations while learning from seasoned professionals.
Candidates must be enrolled in the second-to-last year of a four-year undergraduate degree and planning to graduate between December 2026 and September 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2026 World Bank Treasury Summer Internship, applicants must:
- Be in their second-to-last year of a four-year college degree program
- Show a strong academic interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field
- Expect to graduate between December 2026 and September 2027
- Be in good academic standing at their institution
- Be available to work full-time for the entire internship duration
- Not hold any other employment or internship during the program
Internship Benefits
Successful interns will receive:
- A short-term contract paying $21.80 to $26.20 per hour (net for non-US citizens, gross for US citizens)
- Total compensation of $10,480 for 400 hours
- A World Bank-issued laptop for the internship duration
- Visa sponsorship to work in the USA, if required
