Scholarship Details
The ASMAF Scholarship Program is designed to support female Nigerian students from indigent backgrounds who are pursuing their first tertiary-level qualifications in professional courses at public universities in Nigeria. The scholarship award provides financial support for tuition, board, and upkeep for the full duration of the recipient’s academic program, up to a maximum of six years.
In addition to financial assistance, scholars will benefit from access to life skills and leadership development initiatives, including mentorship opportunities that encourage personal, academic, and professional growth. Scholars will also be provided with access to useful resources and tools that promote academic excellence and lifelong learning.
Successful applicants selected as ASMAF Scholars will be notified of the exact value of their award, which may vary annually. Payments are disbursed in installments per semester, subject to continued academic performance and verification from the university.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the ASMAF Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be female, indigent, and a Nigerian citizen
- Be enrolling in tertiary-level education for the first time
- Have gained admission or be currently enrolled in a full-time, accredited undergraduate program in:
- Medicine
- Law
- Actuary
- Engineering
- Accountancy
- Architecture
- Or other professional courses
- Be attending a public university in Nigeria
- Demonstrate financial need and meet the academic criteria specified
- Show commitment to academic and professional excellence
- Possess strong leadership potential
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the ASMAF Scholarship Program will receive:

Required Documents
Applicants are expected to prepare the following documents:
- Admission letter issued by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB)
- Evidence of credit passes in required subjects from:
- General Certificate of Education (GCE)
- National Examination Council (NECO)
- West African School Certificate (WASC)
- Or any other approved qualifying examination
- Evidence of success in any required post-JAMB screening or university admission criteria
