Scholarship Details
The UBC International Scholars Program is an annual undergraduate scholarship opportunity offered by the University of British Columbia to academically outstanding international students.
The scholarship is both need- and merit-based and is aimed at supporting students who would not otherwise be able to afford an education at UBC. It is renewable for up to three additional years or until completion of the degree, whichever comes first, provided that the recipient maintains good academic standing and continues to demonstrate financial need.
UBC offers four distinct awards under this program:
- Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award, for students with strong academic records and outstanding leadership qualities.
- Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award, for students from conflict zones or economically disadvantaged areas who have shown academic excellence despite challenging circumstances.
- International Impact Award, for students committed to solving global challenges in areas such as sustainability, equity, health, or social justice.
- Vantage One Excellence Award, for students with strong academic records who do not yet meet UBC’s English Language Admission Standard.
